Homeowner Terms of Service

Last updated: 3 July 2026 · Effective: 3 July 2026

Summary: Solar Relay is a free matching service — we verify your enquiry and share it with up to three solar providers (one, if exclusive) who quote you directly. We are not the installer, we don't guarantee prices, savings or workmanship, and you're never obligated to accept a quote. Your Australian Consumer Law rights against any provider are unaffected. Solar Relay may receive a fee from providers.

1. Acceptance of terms

By using solarrelay.com.au or submitting an enquiry, you agree to these Terms, which form an agreement between you and Mars Digital Pty Ltd (trading as Solar Relay). If you do not agree, please do not use the service. We may update these Terms; the "Last updated" date above shows the current version.

2. Solar Relay is a matching service

Solar Relay is a solar lead-generation, verification and matching service. We collect your enquiry, verify your identity, authority, property and installation intent, and share the verified enquiry with participating solar providers:

The service is free for homeowners. See How Solar Relay Works for a step-by-step explanation.

3. Solar Relay is not the installer

Solar Relay is not a solar installation company. We do not design, sell, supply, install or warrant solar systems, and we do not enter into your installation contract. We are not the agent of any provider, and no provider is our agent.

4. Providers issue their own quotations and contracts

Matched providers contact you directly and issue their own quotations. Any quotation you accept, and any contract you sign, is solely between you and that provider. The provider is responsible for its pricing, advice, products, installation, warranties and after-sales service.

5. You are not required to proceed

You are under no obligation to accept any quotation or engage any provider. You may withdraw your enquiry, opt out of contact, or ask us to delete your information at any time — see our Privacy Policy.

6. Solar Relay may receive fees from providers

Solar Relay may receive a lead or referral fee from participating providers when we share a verified enquiry with them. This is how the service remains free for homeowners. We disclose this openly and it does not change the price a provider quotes you.

7. No guarantee of price, savings, suitability or quality

Solar Relay performs basic credential checks on participating providers (see our Provider Verification Policy), but we do not and cannot guarantee:

Solar Relay performs basic credential checks, but homeowners should review the provider's quotation, licence, warranties and reviews before signing.

8. Your Australian Consumer Law rights remain

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)) or other applicable law that cannot be excluded. Your consumer guarantees in relation to goods and services supplied by a provider apply against that provider.

9. Complaints

If something goes wrong — with us, with unwanted contact, with how your data was shared, or with a provider — our Complaints Policy sets out the process for each situation. Email info@solarrelay.com.au with "Complaint" in the subject line.

10. Your responsibilities

11. Intellectual property

All content on the Solar Relay website is the property of Mars Digital Pty Ltd and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce or distribute it without our written permission.

12. Prohibited conduct

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mars Digital Pty Ltd is not liable for any loss or damage arising from any installation performed by a provider, any dispute between you and a provider, or any interruption of our website. Where liability cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, our liability is limited to re-supplying our matching service. Nothing in this clause limits your rights against a provider.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and are subject to the Australian Consumer Law. Disputes under these Terms are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.
